Introduction to ECIP LAB (Learn, Assess & Benchmark)
ECIP LAB takes each principle of the Ethical Charter and breaks it down into a series of management systems required for effective implementation. The LAB offers three areas for growers to move through the platform concurrently:
- Learn: learning resources, templates and best practices are provided for each management system
- Assess: the user is guided through statements on the principles of the Ethical Charter and asked to choose among 5 statements that assess the farming operation’s current status in that area
- Benchmark: as a user interacts with the system, a dashboard will begin populate with the self assessment statements chosen.
Getting Started
Your supplier invites you into ECIP LAB. After registering for an account, ECIP LAB begins at the Assess phase and moves users through statements that align to each principle of the Ethical Charter. During the Assess portion, users may click for more information and resources for that specific topic and can visit the Dashboard for more learning and resources.

A supplier invited you to the Ethical Charter Implementation Program after they were asked to participate by a buyer. Create a login and invite others from your operation to join.
Assess your management systems in ECIP LAB by self-rating your operation on more than 50 different work areas, systems and policies. Access resources and additional information about each area. This information is only seen by those from your operation.
As you assess your operation, your Engagement Profile will populate. Over time, as you credibly engage with ECIP LAB, access resources and re-assess your management systems, your engagement profile will increase. The engagement profile will be anonymized and aggregated for each supplier and reported to customers.
Your Engagement Matters
ECIP LAB is meant to recognize what is working well for your operation and support further development in areas that you prioritize. As you interact in ECIP LAB by accessing resources and frequently engaging with the system, your Engagement Profile increases.
