How Growers Earn Engagement Stars

Growers earn engagement stars in ECIP LAB by actively engaging with the platform’s tools and resources to assess and improve their labor management systems. After being invited by a supplier, growers create an account, invite team members and begin evaluating their labor management systems across more than 50 different work areas. As growers complete assessments, access educational content, and revisit systems over time, their Engagement Profile improves—earning stars that are visible to their supplier. Suppliers do not have access to a grower’s specific answers to the self-assessment. Instead, suppliers can only see the grower’s engagement profile. Buyers see only aggregated and anonymized data that summarizes labor practices across all of a supplier’s participating growers. Learning Channel

Up to two green stars are awarded for using tools available in the Learning Channel. Growers learn about the Ethical Charter principles, share the platform and information internally, create notes for reference, and set priorities for an action plan.

Assessment Channel

One star is awarded when growers have assessed each management system by using the provided resources, information-gathering from colleagues and the workforce, and selecting a credible current-state assessment. This star is maintained over time by reaffirming or rescoring each response at least annually.

Worker Assessment – Available Mid-2025

Because workers provide valuable assessment of a management system’s effectiveness, beginning in 2025, a star will be earned by completing an approved worker survey. Approved worker surveys will be available on the Marketplace
